This image was created to occupy a place temporarily. The circle represented no object, the country was assigned without intention, and the number belonged to an entry that had not yet arrived.
It was expected to disappear.
Instead, during the construction of the archive, the placeholder was invited to remain. What had been made to represent absence became an entry of its own. I chose not to correct the image or its assigned country: both are traces of the conditions under which the archive came into being.
Not everything elsewhere needs to be found.
